MCANINCH TRAIL HEAD & JOHN GRAY EVENTING PARK
RULES FOR LAND USE

When in doubt, refer to the rules and regulations set forth by Fort Armstrong Horsemen's Association for McAninch Trail Head use, riding, and camping. Refer to WPEA FOR ALL EVENTING-SPECIFIC rules as FAHA rules do not address jumping nor are they responsible for anything eventing specific that takes place on this land.  By using this  land for any activity, including any equestrian activity whether mounted or as a spectator, you hereby acknowledge that you release WPEA, FAHA and their affiliates, volunteers, or workers of any sort from liability for any and all damage or injury and hold harmless all of the aforementioned parties. 

  1. Horseback use is for FAHA and WPEA Members Only. (Except during prescheduled open events hosted by either association). 

  2. Unmounted (non-horseback) use of the land is not restricted to those utilizing the Rachel Carson Trail System (Baker Trail), volunteers, utility workers, neighbors with prior approval, WPEA or FAHA maintenance crews or construction. 

  3. HORSES RECEIVE RIGHT OF WAY AT ALL TIMES. If you are on foot, be aware that this land’s primary purpose is for equestrian activities.  

  4. ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  5. You are responsible for removal of your own trash. 

  6. Immediately report any issues by texting or calling 724-393-2405

  7. Be aware of PA Equine Laws. Ride at your own risk. FAHA nor WPEA nor any of their affiliates are responsible for any injury to person/property/livestock.

  8. You must supply your own water. Do not enter, swim in, or use pond water for any purpose. 

  9. Do not cross US ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS Markers.

  10. Close the entrance gate after pulling onto land and close the gate upon exiting. 

  11. If camping, see ALL RULES listed by FAHA.  

  12. HELMET USE REQUIRED BY WPEA MEMBERS AT ALL TIMES. HELMET USE REQUIRED BY ANYONE JUMPING (member or not).

  13. Helmet, safety vest, and VISIBLE medical band REQUIRED FOR ALL RIDERS for CROSS COUNTRY JUMPING at any level, division, or age.

  14. Anyone jumping cross country is STRONGLY ADVISED to have a grounds person present.

  15. These rules may change as WPEA makes additions to and further develops this land.

We kindly ask...

  1. Text 724-393-2405 to give WPEA JGEP Coordinator “notice” that you are planning to be on the land on horseback.
    2. WPEA MEMBERS: Schedule through WPEA, in advance, any overnight camping or any use of this land involving more than 5 people on horseback.
